Ballot Printing Setup for Runbeck Sentio and ABS Balotar
The systems from Runbeck and Advanced Ballot Solutions interface with Voter Focus and EViD for printing of ballots during early voting and on election day from EViD stations. For ballot printing for pickup and in-office absentee voting, the systems interface with the Voter Focus applications Voters and Counter.
This topic describes the procedure for setting up the interface for ballot printing initiated by Voter Focus and EViD users.
-
If you have not selected Runbeck or ABS as your ballot printing vendor, follow the instructions in Ballot Printing Setup in System Maintenance.
-
In the Elections application, create a record for the election if you haven't created one already. See Create an Election in the Database for instructions.
-
In the election record, mark the precincts and precinct splits that are voting. To do this, select the election, and click Ballots Styles > Precincts. Highlight the first voting precinct or precinct split and select the Voting check box; repeat for all voting precincts. For each non-voting precinct, verify that the Voting check box is clear.
-
On the ballot printing system, set up the Runbeck or ABS ballot styles so that they exactly match the precinct and party values set up in your county’s voter registration database. This is an important step that must be validated before you print ballots.
At this point, you are ready to set up the workstations and EViD stations where users will be issuing ballots to absentee and/or early voters. See Ballot Printing Setup on User Workstations and Ballot Printing Setup on EViD for instructions.
